WHY AM I MAKING A GAME?

I've played games since I was a child and an in love with the art form, my goal is to one day make a 2d top down shooter, full of crazy beautiful animations and typography, with leveling systems and so on, BUT... to get to this I need to teach myself how to use Unreal Engine, which is what this project is.

To begin with, I am building and coding a 2d side scroller game, with traps, health recovery and a bunch of other systems, so I can learn and perfect HOW to make these, before taking everything I have learned into my main focus, Project Redacted (The 2d top down shooter).

My real name is Dan and I am a 26 year old freelance graphic designer, and media producer, It is great to meet you!

I used to be a football coach for a professional team here in Wales (Swansea City), after coming across a little bit of bad luck, I went back to college just before the pandemic hit and managed to finish the two year course with a merit and distinction, once I put my mind to something, I do everything in my power to make it a reality.

I just love EVERY step of producing media, and have been incredibly lucky to have some of the experiences I managed to land last year, these include working for Guinness and a branded social media video shoot AND working as an assistant producer

I have been freelance designing for over four years and anyone who does it knows how hard it is to have a regular, steady income.. this where you beautiful people come in.
